ANIME: A Ranking of the Top 15 Anime Cats

Which anime cats are the best?
You either absolutely adore cats or you detest them, and if you fall into the latter category, this list isn't for you!
It seems like there are cats in anime everywhere, from cat girls to real cats, and they're almost always incredibly cute.
We're giving the greatest anime cats a chance to shine today so they can receive all the love and respect they merit.

ANIME: A Ranking of the Top 15 Anime Cats

We think all cats are amazing, so picking the best anime cats is a difficult process, but we've persevered to find some true gems.

These felines have been selected on the basis of their general cuteness, character traits, and fan base appeal.

Now, take a break from amusing cat videos and peruse our selection of the top 25 anime cats:

 1: Sorata

The incredibly cute black and white cat Sorata from the TV show Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi is the first on our list.
Sorate was left in an alley and saved by Takano during his high school years; his discovery devastated us.
Because Hiyori was working too hard to adequately care for this little fur ball, Yokozawa and Hiyori later took care of Sorata.
Fun tidbit about Sorata: he can read, and non-fiction is his favourite genre, as was revealed in the anniversary special interview!

2:Jiji

Jiji is the magical cat companion of Kiki in Kiki’s Delivery Service, and if you haven’t seen this film, you really need to evaluate your priorities.

This attractive all-black cat has big eyes, and the Japanese and American versions of the movie have different personalities.
He is far more modest and circumspect in the Japanese version than he is in the American one, where he is quite snarky and arrogant.
We may or may not have a few plush toys of Jiji laying around since we adore him so much.

3:Sakamoto

This time, from the anime Nichijou, we meet Sakamoto, another black cat with the ability to speak because of science!
Sakamoto, who was adopted by the brilliant inventor Hakase, is able to communicate because of the custom-made crimson scarf he wears around his neck.
Naturally, this cat uses its verbal power to accomplish what many other cats wish it could do: it becomes arrogant and demands to be treated with respect.
One of the main reasons to watch this series is this cat, who steals the show with his amusing antics!

4:Baron

As the deuteragonist of The Cat Returns and a key character in the movie Whisper of the Heart, Baron Humbert von Gikkingen is one stylish gentleman.
At night, Baron, a live statue of an anthropomorphic cat dressed in a three-piece suit and a dapper top hat, comes to life.
This stylish cat is undoubtedly one of the greatest anime cats, even surpassing the best short-haired anime gals!

5:Korin

Move over, Vegeta! Korin is one of the greatest Dragon Ball Z characters, and we won't take any criticism!
It's a darn shame that we haven't seen more of this youngster lately because he is a master of martial arts and a fat, white cat!
A cat that is an enduring master of martial arts? That is the epitome of cool, and we should have more of him in our lives.
I hope he returns in Dragon Ball Super's upcoming season because this kitty deserves more attention!

 6:Blair

Blair from Soul Eater is a unique example because she is a cat at heart, but she also spends a lot of time as a human.
Although her human form is quite lovely, she is entirely black when she is a cat and frequently wears a witch's hat on her head.
Blair is a formidable monster cat that has defeated numerous adversaries in her time—though it helps that she has nine lives.
Blair is not only a fantastic anime cat but also one of the greatest purple-haired anime girls. Her flirtatious and lively nature makes her impossible to resist falling in love.

7:Kaya

Another black cat, Kaya was a stray until being adopted by the Miyanoshita family when he showed up at Kayako's wake.

8:Nekobasu

As his name implies, Nekobasu, sometimes referred to as Catbus, is a large cat that is actually a bus.
Catbus is a really endearing character in My Neighbour Totoro who also happens to be a very helpful character, which makes it simple to love him.

Naturally, we also have to add Kittenbus from the adorably cute 13-minute short film Mei and the Kittenbus.
Our hearts are genuinely overflowing with cuteness as this short film chronicles the tale of Mei and a younger Catbus.
These are the best flicks, so if you haven't seen either of them yet, please go watch them right away!

9:Karupin

Karupin, one of the fluffiest anime cats we've ever seen, comes to us from The Prince of Tennis, one of the best sports anime.
Ryoma, the Echizen family's Himalayan cat, and Karupin share a strong attachment to this floof ball.
This cute cat can be a little mischievous, but you can also see him relaxing or exploring the house.

Karupin loves cat treats more than anything else, and since he is the loveliest kid alive, he deserves to have all the goodies.

10:Kirara

This two-tailed, fluffy nekomata, who can change from being cute and cuddly to a ruthless killing machine in just 0.6 seconds, is a major reason why InuYasha is such a great anime.
Kirara enjoys playing with cat toys, eating cat food, and travelling with her lover. She also serves as Kohaku's primary means of transportation.
When she transforms, her cuddly form grows to the size of an adult cat, although she is still big enough to ride on, and flames shoot from her tail and feet.
We would both like to cuddle with Kirara and ride her about like the most honourable of horses since she is the cutest fluffy murder machine ever.

11:Arthur

Though he lacks magical abilities, Arthur is a cute and meaningful character in the Code Geass story. He may just be your typical stray cat.
For instance, Arthur once took Zero's mask, which allowed Lelouch to eventually become friends with Sazaku.
This black cat has contributed much to the plot's advancement, therefore even though he generally only lurks in the background, he gets the rest.

12:Neko Sensei

This extremely unsettling cat, also known as Mr. Cat, teaches ballet at Gold Crown Academy and appears to genuinely want to marry his students.
He frequently suggests marriage as a "punishment" to his students, but paradoxically, he thinks the two people who wish to wed him are weird.
Even though Neko Sensei is undoubtedly one of Princess Tutu's strangest characters, he does eventually find love!

Surprisingly, this strange cat falls in love and even has a litter of kittens while existing as a regular cat outside of his anthropomorphic shape.
His lady love is thankfully not one of his students, because it would have made things very strange and uncomfortable

13:Kuroneko

Kuroneko-sama, a very adorable cat from the 1998 anime Trigun, is named after Mr. Black Cat.
Kuroneko is a little black cat with large green eyes that occupy most of his face. Other than that, he is a typical cat.
He doesn't have any impact on the story, yet he is frequently spotted napping and relaxing, essentially leading the ultimate feline lifestyle.
We adore this cat, even though he's not superhuman. He's as iconic as the most well-known anime characters!

14:Nekotalia

Alright, so this isn't so much a single cat as it is a whole cast of cats from the strangely entertaining series Nekotalia.
Each of these cuddly animals symbolises a different nation, and they are all the feline versions of the characters from the television series Hetalia.
Naturally, the cats engage in a great deal of low-key humorous political bickering, which we adore.
One of our favourites is France Cat since he's a total fluff ball with wonderful sparkles all around him.
If you adore cats and want to laugh at personified countries, this series is absolutely worth watching, despite its widespread popularity!

15:Maya

From the anime Azumanga Daioh, Sakaki's Iriomote Mountain cat, Maya, is the first that Sakaki has ever liked to pet.
Regretfully, this doesn't stop Sakaki's enemies, particularly Kamineko, from detesting her to no end.
That grey cat even tries to unite all the other neighbourhood cats against Sakaki because she has an unsaid grudge!
Thank goodness, Maya is the best and can scare the other cats away while keeping Sakaki secure.
We particularly adore his expression, which is usually sombre and expressionless, akin to that of a One Punch Man cat.
